Use of this plant in folk medicine strongly suggests it has an effect on hormones. Studies in Germany indicate extracts from seeds of vitex can increase the production of some female hormones that stimulate the flow of milk, regulate ovulation and menstruation especially after discontinuing the use of birth control pills. Also used to ease the effects of menopause. Produces spikes of lilac flowers that are great for pollinators. We sell this as a dried bulk herb as well.
