One of the four ingredients of the Essiac anti-cancer remedy. The leaves have astringent properties and used for excessive menstruation, ulcers and mouth sores. The tasty leaves have a tartness to them that is great added to soup, salads and baked fish. This plant can get weedy - we suggest growing in a pot to avoid unwanted spreading.
