Licorice Seeds
Glycorrhiza glabra
Licorice has been used medicinally for over 3000 years and was recorded on Assyrian tablets and Egyptian papyri. Among the many treasures found in King Tut's tomb was a bundle of licorice sticks. Through the centuries it has been prescribed for sore throats, coughs, respiratory and urinary problems, as a laxative and even to treat a variety of cancers. Roots can be harvested and dried in fall after the 3rd or 4th year, remove all flowers that year to increase the flavor of the root. Keep the large tap root and save some of the suckers and crowns in the refrigerator to replant in spring. We also sell this as a dried bulk herb.
