Honeywort Seeds
Cerinthe major 'Purpurascens'
This plant has found its way to our hearts with the lovely deep blue and purple flowers that curl over at the top, looking something like a kitten's paws, and silvery green foliage that makes a great addition to the moon garden.
Beauty aside, we have noticed the bees just love the flowers, which come on mid-summer and go late into fall, outlasting most of the other plants in our garden. Must be where the name honeywort comes from!
In mild climates honeywort will reseed easily, with big black seeds dropping to the ground and germinating in fall. If your winter is colder, collect seeds and start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost.
Did we mention it's also drought tolerant? Bonus points there!
Add Honewort to your garden this year and enjoy a beautiful bounty of flowers and late fall pollinators.
