Also Known as Gumweed and Rosinweed Gumplant grows best in sunny, well drained areas including roadsides and disturbed zones. Produces bright yellow flowers. Used in traditional medicine to treat colds, coughs, and bronchial ailments. Externally, it is used in preparations for skin irritations including as a wash for burns and rashes, specifically poison oak and poison ivy. Seed Germinating Tips: Plant outdoors in spring after danger of frost, or indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date in your growing zone. Barely cover seed with fine soil. Germination can take up to a month. Transplant or thin to a foot apart for best results.
