Also know as Blazing Star, this North American native is very useful in the butterfly garden. Besides having medicinal properties, the powdered root and leaf may also be used as an insect repellent and in potpourris. The leaf was once used to flavor tobacco.
Out until fall 2023. Consider Meadow Blazing Star or Prairie Blazing Star, two other lovely Liatris.
