This New Zealand hop was developed in the late 70's from an open pollinated tetraploid smooth cone hops variety. With alph levels of 10+, Dr Rudi SuperAlpha has been a popular choice for IPA but also does very well with a lighter pale ale, lending a citrusy, fruity and floral aroma to the finished brew.
