 Referred to as Dang shen in Chinese Medicine. This shade loving vine produces unusual green bell shaped flowers streaked with purple. The roots of this important Chinese medicinal herb have ginseng-like properties and are used to strengthen the immune system, stimulate the appetite, for energy deficiency, to lower blood pressure and to treat anemia, diabetes, and dyspepsia. Also known as 'Poor Man's Ginseng'.
