Certified Organic Amalia Neomexicana Hops Rhizome
Amalia Hops are a variety of neomexicanus which is a subspecies of Humulus lupulus. Neomexicanus is a true wild American hop native to New Mexico that is relatively new to the brewing scene. With a high tolerance for heat and early cone maturity, we are pleased to offer this option for our friends in the Southwest who are eager to grow their own hops.Amalia, or Amallia as it is also sometimes referred to, has an earthy, spicy flavor and orange aroma and has been used with success in darker brews and brown ales.
The cones store well.
Used to brew: Brown and Dark Ales
- Alpha acid: 5.5-9%
